Not buying the wife's attitude

She has been keeping a big deal breaking secret of her own, yet she is telling her husband that he has to be completely honest with her?!?!?! She had an emotional and apparently sexual relationship with another man and she admitantly still has feeling for the guy, but she is demanding that her husband tell her what he's keeping from her!

I don't even want to hear anyone talk about her loss as an excuse to have an affair because he lost his child as well so I'm not buying any excuse for her cheating, nor do I give her a pass if it were only emotional. I think a part of what actually hurts this show is that not only do most fans think that most of the actions of its main characters are stupid, but not enough of the characters we are supposed to care about we actually care about!

My least favorite is the wife, which is weird because I actually like the actress in everything else she has done. I just feel like she has been written into a typical lazy stereotype and not given an original leg to stand on. Perhaps it's a moot point since it seems like cancelation is inevitable, but if it had a chance it would be to repair the disservice that was the wife character.

I get what you're saying, but her affair isn't putting their lives in danger like gang affiliation does.

It's still one big ass lie she's been carrying on for months, which makes her no better than him, his lies have been an attempt to keep people alive.

I couldn't agree more with you and eda-49's post!

The fact that the "other man" barged in on her and did the equivalent of drunk-dialing her, but in person--in front of her son and father-in-law, no less--I think the cat would have been out of the bag anyway.

I agree with the other poster.... her affair didn't put her and her son in mortal danger from rival gangs. That's a BIG difference in the type of secret. And she did tell her hubby the truth. She was sort of forced into it, but I think she would have told him regardless.

And she did tell her hubby the truth

And he told her the truth, except he did it first and he's been carrying his secret a HELL of a lot less time than she has. She lied to cover her ass, he lied to keep his family from getting killed.

In voicing my point about the wife's hypocrisy I'm not condoning the husband's issue which was extremely different from what she did. His problem was that he reacted to an extremely by chance situation, he tried to defend a kids life, yet every decision since that incident, though many were perhaps bad were done to protect his family. The wife's choices since she decided to have an affair were done for purely selfish reasons and her keeping secrets were done to protect herself!

Although he inadvertantly placed his family in harm with his choices I hope noone is excusing her crime over his. She purposed to allow and keep the affair while the husband simply happened into his situation, but he made it worse with the choices he made after his initial selfless act. How did she expect him to react to her making him confess his heart to her only to have her have to confess to having an affair? Her hand was forced by the guy coming to the house anyway which makes her confession that much more weak.

So, what happened between the wife and husband? I didn't want the most of the episodes, but for some reason I'm very curious as to the status of their relationship once the affair came out...and, I really don't want to watch the show, lol.

Dunno why, but I'm just curious about that particular part. If someone can explain it to me, that would be great.

Thanks!
