Am I taking crazy pills?!?

I get the movie was made on a low budget and I commend the cast and crew with what they were able to achieve on such a low budget....

Still this movie didn't offer anything new or exciting in terms of the genre, as I sat watching it I called out the character archetypes aswell as major plot events or devices before they happened.

The Vfx was either extremely on point or really bad almost as if they forgot about certain shots and then quickly did them at the end.

Finally I saw the reviews and I was completely flabbergasted 81% on Rotten Tomotoes... Really though? It just tells me that unless your are an Indy film you really have no chance on that site, it's almost like their sole purpose is to troll the big studio productions out of bitterness or spite. Also because this was crowd funded I feel like the production team made a point to make their contributors review their films and "share in their success"

Look only saw the first film but I doubt I'll watch the others I mean do they get better or am I just being unreasonable here?

Does it have to?
Even most of the high-budget films don't offer anything new in their genres, but they're still considered decent films.
This is just a classic tale in a classic setting, really. Not pretending to be anything special or anything more, but aiming to just tell a good solid tale.

In some ways, that's an intentional aspect of this film. Those who play stuff like D&D, for example, would actually enjoy pegging the character classes.

Pretty much on point, AFAIK.
Everything was done in-house by the one team, from cast to crew and all between. Part of the whole low budget side.

Well, you can't really 'make' people do stuff like that, although those who funded it obviously believe in it and clearly liked what they got for their donations, given how they then funded four more of these films... unlike a number of other recent Kickstarters where dissatisfied backers have kicked off BIG time, with legal action and all sorts.

They get better.
This was just the first attempt and everything was still finding its place. Characters get more defined, plots get more in-depth, VFX improve... I'm eagerly awaiting the 5th and final film right now!!
