Death on the Nile?

At the end of the movie, Poirot is called away to Egypt because there's been a murder on the Nile. Obviously an allusion to the novel 'Death on the Nile', and perhaps setting up the next movie if this one is successful.
Problem is, Poirot was present for the murder on the Nile, and it would be a much different story if he was called in on the case. Not a big deal, just pointing out an interesting issue. And it would make things a little awkward if they actually do decide to make Death on the Nile next.

I don't think a remake of "Death On The Nile" is necessary. That 1978 movie is perfect enough.

It's a no-brainer if this does well financially...

I'm not as familiar with the Agatha Christie/ Hercule Poirot filmography as most others. This was really my first but I thought Branagh did a terrific job in the lead role and if there is any reason to keep these movies going, it would be to see more of him as the character.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here- https://youtu.be/j4EHR1Ibmqk

Agreed. Pretty dumb. You get that they wanted to make an allusion to "Death on the Nile." But, they clearly did not think it out. They could have just done it as a joke, which would have been good to cheer up the downbeat mood at the film's end. "I need to go somewhere where I can relax and there are no murders." "How about a cruise on the Nile?" :-)

That would have been the smarter approach...

But I do think it'll be nice to see a remake of Death on the Nile... it will introduce a new generation to the story...

Yes, that sequel is on its way

They’ll figure it out, I guess. Lol

They'll just retcon it...or something. ;-)

Just saw Death on the Nile. They explain it by Poirot returning from Egypt having solved a murder there, and he mentions he's going back soon.
