Penélope Cruz?

So, Penélope Cruz just joined the cast.

Does anyone have any idea who she might be playing? The only female characters who haven't been cast yet are Greta Ohlsson and Hildegarde Schmidt, and I cannot picture Cruz playing either one of them.

Update: We now know that Olivia Colman is playing Hildegarde, which means that Cruz must be playing Greta. Unless... Well, let's just say that, in my opinion, Penélope Cruz kinda looks like Tasha de Vasconcelos, the actress who played Vera Rossakoff in the 2001 version with Alfred Molina.

I say she will play a version of Greta, who instead of being Swedish, is now Spanish.

(Though, I don't have an idea, why Branagh would change the nationality of the character; except the sole reason of casting Cruz, who'll bring more box office success, but there are famous and talented Swedish actresses working; Noomi Rapace, Rebecca Ferguson, Malin Akerman and Alicia Vikander, but probably he'll (Branagh) try to do something new with this adaption; Hell, Johnny Depp playing Ratchett!??! He had like three scenes in the novel/Lumet's version, so they'll most likely use lots of flashbacks to give him more screentime, or something like that.)

As the title says.

Yeah I also think she'll be playing a Spanish version of Greta.

You're probably right.

Neither do I. And she's not the only character who's nationality has been changed: According to Agatha Christie's website, Michael Peña's character, Marquez, is a Cuban version of Foscarelli.
Is it too much to ask for just screen one version of the novel where none of the characters' names and nationalities are changed (or where none of the characters are omitted, as Hardman was in the Suchet version)?

More and more I´m getting a view. I guss, the Story will be set into another century.

Why would you think that?

Nobody can replace Ingrid Bergman's Oscar winning performance of the Swedish nun Greta Olsshon.

I don't know about that. A good actress could certainly do a new take on the character, hopefully one that's less annoying.

Cruz's character is named Pilar Estravados---which will be familiar for anyone who's read Hercule Poirot's Christmas.

Well, now I'm slightly less excited for the movie. What the hell is Simeon Lee's granddaughter doing on the Orient Express?!

I just hope she won´t be a side kick for him and they just borrowed her name
