Australia is beatiful so why all the fx/filters etc

Every time they showed the sky I expected shooting stars or ET to fly past.
The island looked like it was filmed in a studio but if they have to do this why make everything look so fake.

I am pretty sure all of the island shots were in a studio, at least that is how it looked.

You're right. The limitation was that the trained zoo penguins couldnt be used in the wild and the wild penguins couldnt be got so close to that the movie would work the way it did.

There WAS A huge disparity between live action shots and studio. I assume a limitation of time and budget.

I think that they show us in purpose the fake sky with all stars, those colours and amazing fullmooon because it' s says from the beginning that' s a fairytale!! So, they tried to make it look real but the same time magical... Relax and leave your minds to "feel" and imagine, then you will enjoy it more without doupts about fakes...
