shareNot a fan, sorry.
- Direction: 6.5/10
Sets were good but framing could've been tighter in places, the action more realistic. The way the characters interacted and held themselves felt very rigid and unnatural.
- Script: 3/10
For an elite team, they didn't show it. Talking to each other right outside the door? Everything would be in silence, hand signals. 'Elite team' to me conveys the idea that these guys have an understanding, they know exactly what the other's play is and when. Dialogue is clunky, hammy, too testosterone-filled - feels like something out of the 80s (and not the good 80s). All in all very unrealistic. If the overall goal for Agent Simms was to kill them both, why didn't he just kill the woman when she was in bed? If these guys are indeed elite, why did the other Agent have no intuition that he was about to be capped? Let alone why he tried to shrug off a wound that every other character in plain view knows is going to be too much of a risk to take?
- Acting: 2/10
Again very unnatural. Might be a bi-product of the script. For a genetic creation that "should" have given them a challenge, the fugitive character did not demonstrate he was capable of overcoming his assailants. He didn't convey an impression of power, skill and/or capability. He bowled the first agent over - looked like a drunken fight outside a bar than a skilled bout of combat. With the exception of the woman and the background characters (those with no lines) there was too much overacting, so nothing felt realistic as a result.
- Soundtrack: 7/10
Did the job.
Apologies as probably more negative than you would care to hear. Hope this is taken as constructive rather than inflammatory.
All the best.
JOE.
