... and then I'd had enough of the stupid jealousy of the wife.

I guess the plot needed her to be stupidly jealous - but if she was my wife or girlfriend I'd tell her to stop being so jealous or get out.

Yes the wife's jealousy was dumb as well as not telling him she was pregnant.

What a moron! It was barely the begininng and perfectly natural for the wife to be suspicious of something.
