Surprised it's not more popular...

Or maybe it's because that the reason I like it so much, the impressive sci-fi elements, aren't all that appealing to the mass populace?

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.

I don't know how many people watch it, I haven't counted them.

Just alot of people don't get sci fi or anime type animation. I''ve loved stuff like this for 30 years, though I'm no expert on Anime. Probably the same reason why people don't like DUne, the books, the movies and such.....probably required to access a certain part of your brain to be able to understand weirdness and stuff.

I'm surprised too, but I guess you don't get any cooler watching Netflix unless it's a women's prison comedy.

I am too. I recommended it to a few people I know that are big into anime, and their major complaint was that the graphics were so bad/weird. I agree that the first time I saw them, it was off-putting. There's one scene in Season 2 where the characters are watching a Sidonian tv show, and I had to laugh b/c the animation on on the show they were watching was so much better than how they were drawn.

Still, I'm a sucker for "the chosen one" "hero's quest" "Luke Skywalker" types of storylines, and I especially love this one b/c of the similarities with it (not in absolute terms but in general look and feel) to Robotech.

Though I will say that I absolutely LOVE the slow-mo attacks that pop up now and then. For example, when (during the final battle between Nagate and the Crimson Hawkmoth in Season 1), the Tsugumori came between the Hawkmoth and the captain of the gardes.

I think it’s that it is on Netflix. Most Netflix subscribers don’t care about anime. And most people who love anime don’t get t their fixes at Netflix. Also it sort of looks like a show aimed at Americans, which probably puts off some purists.

I really like the look of the show. They need to make it look better, but it annoys me when people complain about the style when it’s just different, not bad. A lot of anime looks f’n terrible, but they’re used to it.

I think enough Netflix people must have watched Season 1 of Knights because they expanded their anime lineup with Seven Deadly Sins. Which is an awesome show, if drawn out a bit too much even for anime.

Pretty sure overall interest is on the rise if anything and we'll be seeing more.

I think this show is incredible. I don't know why it's not one of the most popular anime out there. Everything about it is awesome. The lore, the art style and animation, the space combat, the music.

I'm confused that a lot of people say the animation isn't good. While it's not traditional, it is great. Most anime animation is really bad and choppy. It's off-putting but I just have to live with it. 1930s American cartoons have better animation.

After season two it didn't feel like a series finale at all to me. I was disappointed to learn that there probably wouldn't be another season. Hope there is another season.

Learning that so much anime end up incomplete and are usually just ads for manga is a major bummer.

I hope there's another season, too, even if it's just a few episodes to tie up the loose ends.
