Light as Feather

You don't need a reason to enjoy this movie.

You can find many but the most simplest one is "Right Length and Very Light touching a very serious topic"

It was so Light that after 2 hours of viewing I felt like going through a good massage, relieving me of alot of stress.

It was right length, no unnecessary stretching of the movie.

Well said. Very well said.
I loved the film for exactly that reason- in a time when most people like films only loaded with masala and sex and bad humor, this film comes off as delightfully refreshing and relevant- superbly acted, slickly directed, funny and warm by turns...I am really surprised that it is not getting that kind of response...

I very much agree with MIOjha and zzzoeb - fun movie, good music, good dancing, bright colors, good comedy, family movie, but delivers a message about marriage and the dangers of traditional dowry marriages with a light touch.

I live in USA, but have all but stopped watching any entertainment made here. I started watching Indian movies because so many of them are family movies, or at least, movies you don't have to be ashamed to admit you watched and enjoyed. I have 4 wonderful grandchildren and I'm always looking for TV series or movies that I can share with them, especially the older ones. I have been so disappointed by most of the Marvel shows - I would love some good Sci-Fi to share with my eldest grandson, but there is no way that I'm going to encourage him to watch any of the Marvel shows with their poor language choices and "in your face" sexual subjects. If the producers really believe that they sell more tickets because of these choices, what about providing a family friendly version. Of course, that idea is not new and because Hollyweird keeps making poor choices about entertainment and what to include in it, I can only believe that they don't care if they damage the moral fiber of citizens or teach children that this is the proper way to communicate. But, I also can't help but ask myself, what could possibly be the real purpose of such decisions? Are people really happier, healthier or more balanced when they are allowed to use as many profanities as they like? Really, that's a freedom that we want our teens and young adults to spend time defending?

I know that people use bad language; I can't walk out to my mailbox without hearing it yelled by the neighborhood kids or hearing parents calling each other filthy names! There are even some movies where I find that some "bad words" are understandable and seem to fit the subject matter. However, these shows where it appears that writers no longer have to depend upon their language skills, intelligence or education to write a dialog are nonsense. It's not just the use of "bad language" but the use of that language instead of making use of the rich vocabulary of most languages that allows us to share thoughts and ideas clearly and with understanding. So many of the comments where I see the authors using profanities provide me with no information about what the person is really thinking; they use the profanities in place of words that would be more concise and enlightening. Why would we want to encourage people to use language that does not enhance our understanding of each other? Language and using it properly and in a skillful manner allows us to communicate and understand each other clearly. The heavy use of profanities allows us nothing except to judge that those using it are ignorant of the skillful use of words. Besides, seeing these fresh, cute faces with bright eyes and then hearing filth from their mouths does not encourage me to try to communicate with them; it encourages me to turn my back on them and get away.

The same goes for sexually explicit scenes. Even most teens know what is about to happen between two people when we see them kisssing on-screen and then head into the bedroom holding hands. We don't need to see naked bodies or bodies that appear to be in the middle of sexual acts for us to know what is going on. How stupid must these film makers think we are? There is more than enough soft porn, hard porn, gay porn, whatever any mind can imagine available to people who are really intent on watching such things. Why does it have to show up in almost all of our entertainnment? Really, can't we be trusted to be capable of following the story unless we see every detail? I see people complain about this, but Hollyweird just keeps dumping more and more on our heads.

So, please India, do not try to emulate the USA in their entertainment choices. It's not good for your citizens and it does nothing to serve your country. On the other hand, it's so refreshing and welcome to know where to go to find entertainment that is free from profanities and sexually explicit scenes. It's a great service to provide family friendly entertainment for those of us who hunger for it and are pleased to be able to use our minds while enjoying a movie instead of just having sounds and visions thrown at us while we vegetate. Your entertainment industry truly has the opportunity to become the "go-to" choice for good, clean entertainment that families can enjoy together.
