I'm noticing a lot of negativity here and the 4.6 rating doesn't help.
I saw images from the film and it looks awesome. Ideas seem to be similar to the Thing and Phantoms.
Another film that was rated low, Dead Mary 4.5, I thought deserved a bit higher closer to a 6. People were griping about that too.

shareI just finished it on Netflix and I liked it. I really enjoyed watching it. The one thing i kept wondering about was the special effects. They looked like practical to me but I wasn't sure untill I read the trivia on the imdb page. They did a good job.
shareIt's a solid horror movie but unfortunately some people are far too picky these days. The 4.6 rating isn't going to do this any favors and I agree it should be at least a 6. The people who worked on the practical effects did a fantastic job. Also, The Thing is one of my all time fav horror movies and this reminded me of it so much.
shareJust saw it. It's ok during 2/3 of the movie. Acting is somewhat amateurish (except for Lance Henrisken and the russian woman) and direction is not stellar, but serviceable.
But the last third of the movie is a total mess.
It really wasn't that bad. I actually thought it was solid. 4.6 is just too harsh for a film like this.
