Absolutely Terrible

Probably the worst alleged war film ever. Go paint a wall and watch it dry it's more fun trust me.

Agreed. Poor Script, poor acting, poor direction. BAD !!😡

reply

Agreed, clean uniforms, clean people, long hair, inconceivably obvious situations that would never happen.
Best re-enactment fantasy advertisement for dry cleaning in years.

I totally disagree. This was obviously an indie film, so it's hard to compare to a war film with $50mil or $100mil to spend. This is one of the better indie films I've seen in awhile, but I like indie films. I felt invested in the main character, the young private Lewis. And I never got bored. Just when the group's circumstance was one thing, there was a curveball thrown.

I was trying really hard to like this movie. Even averting my gaze at the impossibly clean faces and neat hair.
Then I noticed the nazi flag back to front. WHAT?!

reply

Indie doesn't mean you get a pass on acting, direction and dialogue? Low budget excuse for sets, equipment and locations maybe but everything else even a high school level play could do better..

reply

Exactly --
Common sense usually dissuades a team of filmmakers from shooting subject matter that's outside the reach or scope of their prod budget.
Not here.
It's impossible to shoot a WW2 film in 12 days -- with no money -- and it's also impossible to defend this one. But hopefully the folks defending / selling it had fun on-set (or their friends / family members who were involved did).

I felt that the female lives were considered more valuable than all others by the Americans and that those who thought differently were the Nazis. Furthermore, even the smallest of women weren't afraid to fight the largest, most muscular of Nazis in hand-to-hand combat, and could take a punch as well as any man.
