Dichotomous moods,..gorgeous film, poor execution

Amazing first hour to that film, great performances by the central cast, absolutely stunning cinematography and a taut mysterious tone. Unfortunately i think the film went awry after an hour or so, not sure why but possibly due to poor editing or just the jarring saccharine narrative. had so much promise for a while but i'm honestly willing to be proved wrong by any future projects of the creators and also eager to see any follow on projects from both cast and crew alike. i would prefer to watch films made with such a love for film which this clearly had than many of the generic horror or pastiche genre flicks which this noble effort has to contend with but ultimately i felt disappointed at the conclusion. To repeat though, showed lots of promise and was gorgeously shot but in my opinion didn't entirely satisfy. would love to hear from people (non trolls) who agree or disagree

I was very satisfied with this film. These two guys, Benson and Moorhead, have great potential. I'm definitely going to check out their earlier film Resolution (2012). Right now, they only have these two films.

Agree. Before sunset + antichrist + very cool effort but eventually bro fail

Thought it was very creative. Enjoyable.

I agree with you, was intrigued the first hour or so, started to get bored the last half hour.

With me it was the opposite. I disliked the first half, the second half got (slightly) better.

Overall, this gender-reversed Beauty and the Beast is a flawed film, but... you have to admire the gutsiness of the makers to risk setting themselves up for (some deserved) ridicule in their quest to try and do something different, especially in this day and age in which formulaic film making is very much the norm. Sometimes it takes a bit of naiveté to break the mould.

Completely agree. Loved everything in the first hour, particularly how believable the characters are. I forget what the female lead is called! Very good performance, until the script starts turning her into a generic male fantasy. It's pretty formulaic after it's revealed what she is... and then it's like, Well I don't want to her to be a vampire or anything, so what can I do that's original? She's still basically a vampire. Still superior to most other 'rom-horrors'.

Kind of f***ed up imho. BUMP. I actually like their first film, Resolution, better.
