Why?

Why did they choose this book over the book "Personal" to make a film of? Personal would adapt to the big screen very well and it has a much more interesting villain. This movie was a complete bore.

reply

I have absolutely no idea. There is nothing remotely interesting about the film, no angle, atmosphere, characterisation or theme. Its strange that anyone thought the script was worth filming. How does it happen? Did a single person read the script and think "wow, this is a story worth filming, I want to be a part of this". Its just cringeworthy trash.

reply

Perhaps, someone owns the rights to it and didn't want to play ball

reply

Because Personal wasn't out yet when they started planning a sequel.

Fighting a religious war is like fighting over whose imaginary friend is better.

reply

Its Cruise himself who owns the book rights and that is why he is even casted as Reacher which just ruins the movies even more...so write him a letter and ask him why he choose to slaughter this particlular Reacher book.
