Huh?

I'm sixteen minutes into this movie and I'm already perplexed. That's a bad sign. Reacher drifts back into D.C. after having been a civilian for who knows how long and the Major's lawyer is giving him information from her case file? Teacher gives him an order to "get her out" of her holding facility? He is somehow able to find out where his alleged daughter lives and shop and he takes the bus everywhere he goes? I get one has to suspend reality for some movies but this isn't even plausible.

And it's only been sixteen minutes. I'm starting to regret renting this.

Her foster parents' address was in the file.

Don't worry about any of that, forget logic. It gets "better." This movie is ridiculous.

Replying several days later is way too late to give you advice, I realize. But for the sake of posterity (or at least, the next nine days), don't bother finishing it. The film is a serious let down compared to the original. I just finished watching the movie and regret it.
