So very predictable. From her daughter bursting into the room on cue and her being distracted by this, letting the bad guy get the drop on her when she had had full control of the situation and it goes on and on. It must be easy to get a job as a TV writer. All you need is to not be very creative, having little or no talent, being very content to use plots right out of the box so they don't have to think, etc.,etc.
