Interesting how many flawed human characters there are (SPOILERS)

F. Sinclair: Seegson security. Selfish and renegade survivor leader.

Waits: Well-meaning but incompetent Marshall.

Marlow: The guilt-ridden "wipe the aliens out at all costs" Captain of the ship that found the alien.

Ransome: Seegson executive. Threatener and blackmailer.

Kuhlman: Doctor. Drug addict.

The station was a tapestry of dysfunction even before the alien showed up.

It's a common theme in the Alien series to place humanity in an impossible situation and see how they respond. Some will rise to the occasion, some will muddle through, and some will completely collapse.

And I think events actually vindicate Marlow. He was absolutely right that destroying the station was the only option. At the end of the game, Amanda's alive but everyone on the Torrens is very likely dead. So all her crusade ultimately accomplished was saving her own life.

At that point in the game there were quite a number of survivors left on Sevastopol station, for how long they'll stay alive with the amount of Xenos infesting the station is another question.

At the very end of the game, yeah Amanda is the only survivor considering what happens to Sevastopol :P

In the end thanks to Amanda no less, the destruction of Sevastopol to contain the Xeno threat failed thanks to her contacting the Torrens which gave the Xenos safe haven on a new ship.
