Things you want to see in a sequel

Just curious.

Good question. I loved Isolation I thought it was an amazing entry into the franchise. Definitely the best since Aliens for sure. I really want them to keep all the elements that worked so well in the game but expand them even more like the exploration, setting, pacing, story, characters, sound, ending, etc. The game was great but not perfect and I think they can do even better in all those areas.

I for one would love the setting in the sequel to take place on a planet (not earth) or at least not entirely on a ship like the original. Change it up a bit and keep the element of fear and intensity just the way it was especially with the Alien...that was the bread and butter of the game. Add new enemies, keep Amanda as the main character obviously, stronger story but keep it in line with the first two movies and hopefully it starts off where it left at the end of Isolation, not as much backtracking which got kind of annoying at times, better supporting cast of characters that really was one of the weak aspects of the game except for Samuel, I can't really think of anything else at the moment. I just hope SEGA makes a sequel but the chances of that happening are pretty slim. Anything is possible

I sorta imagined a setup whereby Ripley is picked up by a Salvage Crew (similar to the group that pick up Weaver at the start of 'Aliens') that were making a sweep of the gas giant during the latter part of Isolation.

Upon Amanda regaining conciouness onboard she quickly discovers that the Crew picked up the Laboratory Module that Ripley jettisonned previously, with the original Alien still inside. It has, however coccooned itself and evolved into a Warrior Alien (James Cameron style) which then in turn manages to use its blood to eventually escape into the Salvage Station.

Thats all I have atm but I would like to work on more of a plot. What do you think for a basic start point?

Maybe THIS company should remake Colonial Marines......and do it RIGHT this time, but that won't happen. Just wishful thinking.

Well, maybe not Colonial Marines. Let's say that Amanda gets picked up by an infamous rebel group(almost terrorists)that have a grudge against Yutani Corp and in doing so, they stumble across a Yutani science base. Amanda tries relentlessly to warn of Yutani's intentions; however, after an intense battle to take over the base(Rebels are trained and have weapons),the Rebel crew's recklessness catches up to them and things go wrong when Xenomorphs are unleashed in the facility. Trapped in this war between the Rebels and Yutani and the alien terror, Amanda finds herself BACK in the familiar nightmare she thought that she had escaped and must, once again, survive and fight to stay alive.

less back tracking. The suspense, lack of ammo and inventive ways to fend of adversaries are part of the experience. Frustrating as they may be at times.

an "Aliens" titles would be awesome if they pulled it off correctly.

Newt's tale would be awesome - but lots of running around.

Someone suggested they do a die hard variation where you run around as john McClane, that i actually think would be a great idea.

Add a few more terrorist, stealth kills, shootouts.

Well, I liked Colonial Marines because what I liked about it weren't in previous AvP games, but I still think that a follow up to Isolation should be taking the potential of ACM, but done with respect. Things I'd like to see would be

- Co-op marine gameplay (or A.I. marines with you if you're playing solo).
- Proper motion tracker, as in ACM & Isolation, not some radar on the HUD.
- Recreated movie locations, or, if they'd rather create entirely new environments, make them very similar to places like Hadley's Hope for instance. I personally didn't have a problem suspending disbelief over HH not being entirely destroyed, considering Alien 3 is quite frankly, even more implausible & intelligence insulting with the egg on the Sulaco crap, but with the reactions to ACM, it is probably best not to try this again, which is unfortunate as the story had potential.
- Different classes of marines. I was thinking like Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (another awful game which is worse than ACM, but wasn't treated with as much hostility) where they have specific characters with specific skills/abilities. I know RE: ORC isn't the only game to do this, but its what first came to mind. Anyway, some types of marines would be good at hacking devices, or welding doors shut, or cutting them open. A medic could carry numerous health items, heal marines quicker, & if all players are close together, can heal everyone with one item (like in the RE games).
- Aliens can grab though the floor or vents, but you have a short amount of time to try to save them (like in the RE games).
- Multiple paths. For instance, if you weld one door shut & escape through another, that would take a different route to your objective point, but if you did it through a different route, it might be shorter/longer, or easier/harder.
- Playable movie characters. Get as many as they can.
- Re-enactment modes. Like in the Last Survivor or Crew Expendable modes for Isolation, do the same with Aliens (although it obviously depends on which cast members they can get on board).

Just a few ideas I'd like to see. Unfortunately, it won't happen. At least not for a while. People are still going to criticise, or hold Gearbox's screw ups against a new Aliens focused game, but they're still happy to keep supporting this fraudulent company even though it is known they embezzled funding for ACM & deliberately lied to the fans.

Its funny how gamers piss & moan about these kinds of companies, yet, keep buying their games. I won't buy another Gearbox game again, although I liked ACM. Their Borderlands games are mindless trash.

I want to see level design inspired by the SNES version of "Alien 3".

Basically intricate multi-story mazes and the ability to choose assignments at will, allowing you to play strategically.

Not really a sequel but i want the makers of this game to make a Jurassic Park game.
Not fps action, not run-your-own-zoo, but a real survival game.

I think there is a gold mine somewhere.

Yes! That would be so awesome! Can you imagine hiding in some dark corridor with no way out while a pair of raptors stalks you? Or running for your life while chased by a fearsome T-Rex? I want this! I think the setup should be similar to Alien: Isolation where you have to rely mainly on stealth and some of the smaller dinosaurs like raptors or dilophosaurs can be killed (with difficulty so it's better to sneak), but if a Rex catches you, it's instant death. Also I'd prefer if the focus is entirely on the dinosaurs and surviving the island; I'd rather them not add any human antagonists as they are usually the weak point of any game like this, Alien included. If they wanted to go the extra mile, they could have you play one or more of the original characters such as Grant or Malcolm, and perhaps get the original cast to voice them.
