Mr. Bhardwaj failed to hadle such sensitive issue responsibly

Could have been better movie if director would have stick to adaptation of Shakspear's classic Hamlet.

I guess director has completely missed the point of film making by concentrating on local issues. Local issue of Kashmir should serve purpose for movie as backdrop not to become story itself. I was really disappointed by such lame adaptation. Omkara was master piece in terms of adaptation.

Also making fun of military actions of your own country is most irresponsible behavior. If at all director wanted to make movie on Kashmir issue then he should not be biased. Director felt pain for Kashmir people but what about Kashmiri Pandit's who had to leave their homeland ? Just showing 2-3 dialogue for Kashmiri Pandit doesnt serve purpose.

By the way what the hell was that with 2 Salman's fans. Was it suppose to make us laugh or what ?

Only 2 scenes which I liked. One is Kulbhushan Kharbanda talking to extremist that "Lathiwala laya tha azadi hindustan me banduk wala nahi" and Tabu's scene in climax with Shahid. Otherwise it's not up to the mark not at least like Omkara.

Shahid tried his best to portray character and was good. K. K. Menon and Tabu were superb.

It is actually unfortunate that only thing which stuck you was lack of "more dialogues" on displaced Hindu Pandit and why someone has been slightly critical of gross human right abuses by your country's armed forces, which obviously you are very proud of.

reply

No Malik thts not what you think. I would never be proud for gross human right violation. Who am I to pass judgement on Kashmir by seating thousand miles away from Kashmir.

I dont know where did you draw this conclusion.

Let me rephrase again that its about cinema. Its not documentary. I felt director missed main point and he concentrated on other issue. He should have stick to main theme.

The two Salmans are the gravediggers Rosencrantz and Gildenstern in the original Hamlet. They're supposed to be a comic relief in Hamlet, though I didn't find them funny in Hamlet. Believe it or not, the Salmans are actually funnier.

reply

Sorry, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are school friends of Hamlet who later turn spy for the King (Hamlet's Uncle) and betray Hamlet. (They are the Salmans in Haider). The gravediggers are a different 2 characters who appear as comic relief towards the end ( The, well, gravediggers in Haider). What can I say, it's been 20 years since I read Hamlet.
