Should I watch this if...

I've seen great reviews for this movie but I've also seen that it involves a character battling or thought to be battling Alzheimers.

My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers at 51 a little over a year ago. I want to see this movie but have avoided it because I don't want to be constantly reminded of a very sensitive subject for me.

Can anyone please let me know how big of a plot the Alzheimers storyline plays in the movie? Do you think it would be a distraction or be too unsettling? I love horror movies but if this one is going to bring up bad memories or more worries over the future, I'd much rather avoid it.

Thank you for any input.

Personally i would recommend you to don't watch it if that worries you because it does touch the subject of Alzheimer's quite a lot during the first half of the movie, through the "documentary" narration, the interviews to the mother and daughter and just the general behavior of Deborah. My grandma has Alzheimer's and it was quite hard to watch some of those scenes because it reminded me of some aspects of the disease that are quite difficult to acept.

Thank you for responding! I'll definitely play it safe and just avoid this one. I'm so sorry your grandma is having to struggle with this horrific disease. I hope you are still able to enjoy and make the most of any good days she has. My thoughts are with her, you and your family. And you don't have to accept them but I'm also sending prayers your way. May brighter and better days be in your future.
