Another MUST SEE movie, truly one of the best.
8 The Den 9/10
BRUTAL found footage movie, one of my favorites.

Super hero FF movie, awesome.

The best looking FF movie ever, wished I had seen this at the big screen.

Love the list - I have a special affinity for found-footage films. I respectfully submit "Apollo 18" to the mix.

reply

Thank you for your suggestion, I actually started watching it, but had a problem, and had I put it on "hold" lol
It will be on my list by tomorrow.

reply

Just finished it and loved it! Thanks for the suggestion and the list is updated.

I'd add

- CREEP (Mark Duplass) and
- OPEN WINDOWS (Elijah Wood)

to the list if you're looking for more FF.

There's also MANIAC, another Elijah Wood film, but it's less found footage than it is first-person POV, if that makes sense! It's really brutal but you might enjoy the way it's executed. So to speak. ;-)

Awesome list, seen some and others I'm going to have to check out. And just in time for October where I like to watch a scary movie for everyday of this month. FF movies are becoming a fav of mine.

reply

Well it is ALWAYS good to hear people enjoying FF movies, they get enough hate from almost everybody, so we fans must make a stand. lol

My list is updated here now, in case you are interested.

reply

Thanks for your effort with that list.
I'm going to check out the ones I haven't seen.
I love watching found footage movies. When done right it adds a level of realism, or creepiness because they are unpredictable.

reply

I liked your list a lot. There were some on there that I figured wouldn't be on your list, but they were. I just wish that you didn't give the Paranormal Activity franchise much props. The whole franchise just bores me to tears. I'd love to see your list of the bad found footage as well. I have had my fill of FF films by and large, but if a good one comes around, I'll enjoy it, but recently, I have been finding more bad then good. The mirror was dreadful, and I wanted to really like it.

reply

The mirror? never heard of it but i will check it out, well i watched PA with my daughter and she was SCARED so it was double fun, but i really think PA deserves all the fuss about it.

just finished yet another nice FF movie "creep" and the list is updated.

Hi. I'll be sure to watch a few on your list. I have a suggestion for you. A British FF film called The Borderlands. Low budget but I found it to be genuinely creepy.

reply

Borderlands is in my watchlist, and I will see it next, you know it is amazing? How many FF movies ARE there? Everyday I get yet another suggestion and it does not seem to end!

Just finished "The Mirror", nice FF movie. Thank SuperKent for the suggestion, reminded me of Terminator a little lol.

And here is my Found footage list of best to worst.Updated

A lot of people get sniffy about FF movies, but, if done well, there's always room for more. I also suggest The Bay. The acting isn't as natural as other FF films, but it's worth more than its current score on IMDB.

reply

Loved the Borderlands, TY brain for suggesting it, and that sheep? what the hell wass that?

Just finished Trolljegeren (Troll Hunter), it is a really good movie similar to Cloverfield.

The Bay is next, along with The Last Broadcast, thanks brain and scott.

But my (personal) quest is to find a FF movie that I think is BETTER then The Blair Witch Project, lol impossible task, i imagine.

There's one out there that I caught on cable. It's called "The Last Broadcast" and it came out a year before "The Blair Witch Project" but it has many similarities with tha later film. Only in TLB the filmmakers are in search of the legendary Jersey Devil.

Oh God. There's nothing more inconvenient than an old queen with a head cold!

Thanks for the list!

I have three more movies for you:

- "Afflicted": I absolutely loved it because it's not your usual ghost/possession movie but still has a few jumpscares.

- "The St. Francisville Experiment": Can't remember anything about it. lol

- "The Houses October Built": I haven't watched it yet but it's on my list, according to the trailer it's another FF movie.

reply

Afflicted is awesome! I love that movie! Is like a horror version of Chronicle.

You also have a nice FF called "Undocumented" that is really good too...

reply

i disagree with a lot of your ratings for some of the movies. stuff like the gallows and as above so below are fcking horrible and the only worthy pa movie in the series is the first. other than that, thanks for the list. im going to check out lake mungo and home movie.

don't know if it was mentioned but check out the visit and the bay

reply

You said it all: MY ratings...
And mostly, I do change the ratings like a month after seeing the movie, because I think that's when I give most honest ratings...
About the movies you suggest, I didn't see The Visit yet! Totally forget about that movie for a while... Have to check it out! Thanks.
