Jennifer Lawrence hypocrite?

First she says she wants to back off from the super movie genre, type cast.

Latest news says she wants to be Mystique in MCU? Did anyone notice this?

I like her a lot but she's starting to piss me off, she said she wants to come back to X-Men and then she ditches X-Men for MCU verbally. Classy.

Interesting, that interview was VERY telling. She's been kicked out of the X-Men universe now, that seems incredibly obvious from that interview, the look of hurt on her face when she says she won't be Mystique anymore was obvious. It looks like 20th Century Fox has refused to sign her on for any more movies.

I liked her a lot in X-Men Apocalypse but I think this is really for the best, it'll give a lot more time for the classic X-Men characters to shine, rather than have to fit Mystique in there somewhere as a prominent character. And who knows, they might resign her a few years from now after a couple of X-Men movies have gone by. Or they may simply recast the part, Mystique is by far the easiest character to recast for obvious reasons.

That's an interesting observation. I think your right. I really liked her as Mystique too. Hopefully they consider her in future movies.

Of all the X-men movies I want to see, I want to see the 1st appearance of Rogue. Even though it's really an Avengers story, I think it would fit better as a Rogue movie with Mystique as the main villain.

I think that would work best in a solo movie for Rogue, don't you? I mean if you're going to tell that whole story about her starting off as a misguided and villainous young woman and then getting Ms. Marvel's powers permanently by draining her dry and then having trouble with her scrambled psyche and needing Xavier's help and then joining the X-Men out of necessity at first and then later out of respect for Xavier's vision and dream as she realizes that the dream for coexistence is a good and righteous one then it's going to require the bulk of an entire movie to do so. She'd need even more prominence than she got in the first X-Men movie, which was a lot (you could even say she was the central character in that movie).

I wouldn't mind seeing her start out (when they eventually bring her back) simply with her other superpowers of flight, strength and invulnerability already gained, they don't even really need to explain it, and she can be hunting Gambit as an outlaw in his solo movie before falling for him, so something like that. But if they are going to tell her entire backstory as it's laid out in the comics then I think she needs a movie entirely devoted to it, maybe with her and Mystique and Xavier as the principal characters, and Mystique and Xavier have a "tug o' war" over her.

It would be a Rogue movie, but mostly only in title. But we all know it would be a Mystique heavy movie. I mean this would be a Fox X-men movie. Also, the story would be based on that Avengers issue, but it'll have to have a replacement for Ms. Marvel and maybe the government X-Factor replacing the Avengers. Maybe have an interrogation/torture scene/montage of her draining 3 or so members of X-factor and collecting the powers to be have that "Supergirl" power set. Have it come from one of them (young idealistic female rookie recruited from Xavier's school?*) about being "good" and Xavier's is a safe place to be.

She was only there in the 1st X-men movie. There wasn't really a Rogue story. Any character (male or female) could have been in that role. She was just a mutant that couldn't control her powers. A person can't touch Jubilee's skin because it could burn them alive. Kitty Pryde can't control her powers so people go through her when they try to touch her.

Wouldn't do the character justice. Rogue has that type of history that they can make a Rogue series. Even without the "Ms. Marvel" powers. And no Xavier. Maybe at the end welcoming her to the school. Also, no opposing forces fighting over a character. That has been done too many times in the X-men movies. The movie would be quite simple. Have her be bad in the beginning while she steals the powers. The psyche of the people she drained has her conflicted about Mystique's plan (Brotherhood will be there also). Her not liking that people are getting hurt by them with her even saving people on their heists. Before Mystique's big thing happens Rogue has to fight the Brotherhood and defeat Mystique. End it with Rogue flying to some sad Rogue music. She lands and turn around and we see that she's at the front door of Xavier's and he's sitting there with a smile saying "Welcome." Role credits.

*Even have it from her perspective before she is kidnapped.

She obviously didnt get kicked out of the Xmen universe(especially since Singer even talked about a Mystique solo film), but she seems like she done with the franchise.

She even bad mouth the franchise lol

reply

The thing is though, anyone can play Mystique. Her real form is the blue skin version. She can be anyone and be played by anyone. Jennifer Lawrence is so full of herself, I'd say she's pretty hard to work with too and costs way too much. I say drop her like a rock.

She said that in an interview with Chris Pratt for Passengers. She might have talked with Pratt about the make-up for Gamora and the other off-color characters. Her biggest beef about Mystique was the make-up. Also, the painted girls in the Guardians movies are clothe. Like Mystique should be.

I can't see any reason she would have an issue with no clothes. She seems to be pretty used to that.

In private. Sending pics to someone is different than walking around with only body paint and appliques while everyone else is fully clothed. It's especially different when the source character is always "fully clothed*." I think she'd rather look like Gamora than walking around nekkid (even the body stocking is close to being nekkid.

The funny thing is that Jennifer is wearing an actual suit when playing Mystique. Rebecca Romijn, of original X-Men fame, is wearing body paint, with minimal suit material. Rebecca looks more realistic than Jennifer, there are times when you can tell Jennifer is just wearing an overlay suit, and takes away from the X-Men movies she's in.

reply

Yeah, that's because she gets sick from the body paint.

She's having her "I am not Spock" moments.... and with Katniss troiletgie movies done she'll be back in a Xmen movie or two when her other movies tank and her bitchin' about being underpaid gets worn out as her appearance as rape victim #369625 on Law & Order: SVÜ.

reply

Maybe some flagellation is in order.
