How can Quicksilver listen to music if he's literally moving so fast?

So, Quicksilver has what I assume to be a walk man, since it's the 80's... But how can he be listening to Sweet Dreams if he's literally moving at what is most likely the speed of sound.

Quicksilver has a his own special Walkman he modified himself ... He goes through a lot of them and tapes since they wear out so quickly.
I'm sure to us would sound like a quick buzz of a mosquito flying by our ear

Ya all they had to put was a little throw away line but didn’t. Ohh well movie was meh

I wondered about that in that kitchen scene from Days of Future Past. But really, even if there was no good explanation to this, I wouldn't care. Those scenes with him kick ass.

reply

Nice way to put it, haha. I agree!

Maybe since it's in contact with him, it doesn't matter? Like how he can transport other people with him? I dunno. Otherwise I'm game for him modifying his own special Walkman.

That's what I was thinking. Either way, it's super nice he (and we) can listen to his music while using his extremely cool powers. :)

He definitely has too much fun in those scenes. 😂

Not that I'm complaining, of course. The special effects are great.

They have a video about this.
Who else thinks he looks like Jean-Claude Van Damme when he's running.

Another question: since light is photons hitting light sensitive regions inside our eyes, and the more photons per second the brighter something appears, wouldn't everything look very dark when Quicksilver slows down time?

Say he is slowing down time so it appears 1/10,000 as slowly to him. Wouldn't everything be 1/10,000th as dim as well?

reply

The Walkman is moving with him. It's relative velocity to him is exactly the same as if they were both standing still.

reply

He has it on fast forward.

So you’re trying to make sense out of comic book “science”? Have you ever watched anything on The CW?
