The practical effects were great, but...

This movie took itself way too seriously. I LOVE how it was all practical effects and basically no CGI. Most of the demons looked pretty decent for a movie with a low to modest budget. So as I totally appreciate the spirit and work that went into making this film, I really think it was just a little too serious. Maybe if they went with more of a "Meta" or self-aware vibe the movie would have been more original and entertaining. Maybe if the director used some quicker cuts, narration, different music, and just an overall lighter tone; this movie could have been a "Cult Classic" type of movie. But all in all, I was excited to see a throwback effects movie reminiscent of the old school 80s and 90s Practical FX Horror Movies

Oh and by the way, the main guy in this movie is one of the bullies from Hocus Pocus hahaha

I don't think it took itself too seriously. It should have been faster and the pacing and acting / editing was a bit ponderous. But I quite liked the atmosphere created though that.

For a low budget movie / debut it's pretty good. Definitely watchable. At least no cliches. I think what makes this movie is that you don't know what the hell is going on and that you want to find out where this is going.

It could have been better, definitely weird but somehow cool, could have been a lot worse (on the nose).

I really liked this movie and would like to see a continuation of the story.

main problem for me as for the story is it's moistly not real or the reality is changed which makes most of the movie not to happen and I feel like I've been manipulated

I'm still watching it, so I'm withholding my judgement to the end. But so far I'm following the story fine and I'm loving it.

What I really, truly love about it is that it's NOT full of spasmodic MTV-style jerky quicky stupid cuts. The director takes his time with shots... he has the confidence of his sets, characters, and effects so that he doesn't feel the need to distract the audience with editing.

The creators of this movie envisioned it as the first in a series of four - I hope they can make the other three, and I dearly hope to see much more of this style in the future.
