So who was the red bird? (SPOILERS)
The ending kind of confused me. From what I understand he was being selected / initiated as an "interpreter". Was the red bird the interpreter master demon? Or something else? An angel? He himself?

shareA manifestion of his good, he is a demon pure evil, him taking petty on the girl is a paradox, can not exist in his being and took the form of the bird.
Girl called him birdman.
Well thats what i make of it lol
its actually more then that. The entire movie did not happen, everything between the basement scene, where he lets the child raper go and where he beats him up, never took place. Its his struggle of remaining evil and do nothing, or help and defy his nature.
Like Cornelia said "something new is coming", and it did, he helped the girl by killing the raper, becoming a demon with a conscience and the next interpretor.

Thanks Birdman makes sense!
Yeah I got that his compassion caused the paradox. Not quite sure if he really traveled back in time though or if he just "previewed" the future or already made the right choice or what. During the movie the girl is alive after all and afaik the killer only kills her later. I guess the ending is meant to be more poetic.
But all the other demons woke up in the basement as well.
