I'll leave my remark as vague as possible for those who haven't seen it. Those who have Spoilers below:
I kept thinking there was something about this boy that is very off and how "gender unspecific" he seemed, but there are always kids like that around in high school so I accepted it and went looking the other way for a final spin, I admit I haven't been played/misdirected like that in a film since Orphan(2009)
Couldnt decide if it was a boy or girl for a long time. As soon as Britney was introduced though I guessed it was the same person

shareYeah, as soon as that kid popped up on the screen I thought it was a chick. Then I accepted that it was a boy. Then the twist ending threw me off. I freakin' knew it, lol.
shareThoughts: She was clearly female, but I couldn't tell for a while if the actress was just transgendered and playing male, with whom s/he identifies, or if it was a key to the character. It was obvious, though, so I kept waiting to find out what was going on with that.
Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.
If you look at the cast listing, Jack was played by a male actor. Brittany was played by someone else entirely.
