Although he does get to play a spy.

I agree, because Mark Strong is such a good actor. I hope he got millions for this movie that had its funny moments, but was too over-the-top.

For me that is what made it sooooooo hilarious. Mark Strong is such a good tough guy actor. To see him playing this kind of role was classic. It reminded me of Robert Stack and Lloyd Bridges in "Airplane". Both serious actors for their entire career who were asked to play it straight in a silly comedy and killed it. It isn't suppose to be a work of art. It isn't Shakespeare. It is a parody of the super spy action movie, and it nailed it.
