In spite of all the lukewarm reviews...

It's actually a pretty sweet game, at least in my honest and humble opinion. Nice graphics, satisfying combat even though it's limited, awesome voice acting, great story...definitely a good reason to own an Xbox One.

I would agree! It was awesome for a release game, the game play ran smooth and the graphics make the executions really sweet! I didn't think the story was very strong but I made for a great ending still.

Just bought it as reviews put me off but so far I think it's really good and the graphics and voice acting are amazing.
It's like playing a cross between gladiator mixed with spartacus.

the only complaint I would make was that it was to short. otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable game

I recently got a copy nice and cheap...and it's a good job it was cheap.
This is bland defined.

Yes it's effing gorgeous to look at. But it's gameplay is so unbeliveably mundane.
I have no probelm with these simple Hack n' Slash games, but they always need to bring something to the table, and this game does not.

The combat is clunky and extremely repeatative, the controls on the whole feel so "sleepy".
There's an upgrade system that offers nothing. Outside of the basic health, focus upgrades, there is just nothing to the upgrade system. It's redundant.

There are no other weapons to use (outside of scripted events). The main character is either badly written or acted, or both. He's just so "invisible".

It could have been great, but it's not. It's just very, very, very "meh".

Get the Conan game from last gen, it's does what this game does only with a lot more style and gameplay.

This being a launch title is no excuse for it's banality.
It feels and plays like a game from the mid 90s, just with really impressive graphics.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.
