Does the dog die?

Does it?
I need to be mentally prepared for that, before I watch the movie and my heart breaks into pieces.

Wondering same thing

reply

Judging from the trailer I was just laughing out of fear because I know the dog is going to die so hard in the end.
Hope the filmmakers can break the pattern and add a happy ending.

They have a website I can check?

Thanks so much for this link!

I want to know the same thing.

Having grown up with Ol' Yeller and Bristle Face as an adult I choose not to see any movie in which the dog dies.

I came on to find that out too! If any dog dies, or if they show abuse, can someone let me know?

reply

Can someone please post here if the dog dies in the end? I don't mind for abuse I know it's all for the show.. but I don't want to take my kid to a movie where the dog dies in the end... it will be hearthbroken like I was back in the day

It's rated PG

so was my dog skip.

It's weird really. I can handle humans dying in movies but dogs dying just destroys me.

reply

Probably because dogs, cats, or any other animal can't speak or really do anything to defend themselves. They have to suffer in silence.

There's a tee shirt advertised on facebook that says "I don't care who dies in a movie as long as the dog lives." So true.

Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.

reply

Me too. All animals. Good or bad.

For me I think it's because of this: "No animal has ever hurt me".

Can't say the same for the human animal. We are vicious.

Me too. I think if Max did die it would be even more heartbreaking because it would be horrible if both the dog and his handler dies

When I read your post, I reacted with an: Awwwww! :) What you said is true for me as well. Animals deserve the same treatment they give us: compassion, respect, fairness and love.

reply

It actually exists? Hahaha I didn't even bothered to check because I tought it was a joke!!

reply

No, Max doesn't die, but they sure make it seem like it way up to the very end. Nerve-wracking. Two other dogs do die though, and I thought that was so unnecessary. I didn't like all the dog fights either. Max is beautiful, and all the acting is very good.

reply

Not quite true.. .one of the Rottweilers gets shot after falling into a ravine. ;(

reply

Oh I understand! And according to DoesTheDogDie.com, it looks safe. But you can always wait until a site like PluggedIn.com or even IMDb puts out their parental guidance review. Usually Plugged In has it up the day a movie comes out, and sometimes the day before, especially when it's a big family-geared flick.

From the trailer, I already know I'm going to sob through parts of it. I cried in two different parts on the trailer; I know I'll never make it to the end in one piece. But if the dog does die... I might as well hit myself upside the head for all it's worth. Probably will hurt less.

I was able to see this movie in a special screening a few months ago. You all should be good to see it ;)

It is a good movie. I really enjoyed it, as well as my 2 children (9 & 10)

reply

Oh you've seen it? Tell us does he die? Or does it end happily ever after?

reply

Can you tell me if the dog dies? That's all I need to know.

reply

no

Thank you!

I don't know how content is posted to Doesthedogdie.com (which I've used reliably in the past) but it's indicating now that a pet does die. I think I need to wait until closer to the release date.
