Anyone else hate the dad?

This was a great movie to watch but I hated the dad. He was cheating on his wife with Emma, which basically led to Callie's mom killing herself. I could stand Emma!! She was so annoying and her daughter was such a robot!!! I was actually rooting for Callie but the ending pretty much wrecked the movie!!!

Agreed! And I couldn't stand Emma, either. I actually loved her reaction when the lawyer read the old will LOL

Had she remained more comforting and kind to the whore, I'm the end she would have gotten away with it.

Yes, Callie should have kept up the charade instead of flaunting her arrogance, then dumbass Emma wouldn't have suspected anything. But I guess with someone as needy as Emma, you would kind of want to throw it in her face!

I thought I heard that too. Callie is the younger sister I thought. That would imply Daddy was married before or was getting around a little. So Laura had to be Emma's daughter then. But in the will he left his money to his 2 daughters I am confused.

Also I think I saw Emma at the house when they were taking Callie's mother out of the house.

Why the hatred for the dad? Emma was only the housekeeper not the dad's mistress. He was apparently married twice. One wife gave him Callie and the other Laura. Callie's mom was a whacko like her and she died. Boo Hoo.. Mothers die so why is that her dad's fault? Callie's father was only trying to get his daughter well but she was so screwed up on drugs that she couldn't understand that. She ran away, got in trouble and then came back after her dad had his stroke. Why anyone would side with Callie is hard to fathom. She was a thief, a murderer and a totally decadent human being.

I agree, Packerpassion4 ! The only reason she returned home is because she was kicked out of the motel , fired from her job, and had no money . It was made clear through the flashbacks that she had psychiatric problems from childhood, possibly inherited from the mother...how is that the Dad's fault ?
