It was definitely here in Ottawa, and some of the minor characters with bit parts (the girl singing on tv, the nurse at the hospital) were portrayed by local talent.

A few reasons would be because Canada IS a beautiful country, Canadians are incredibly friendly and helpful, Canadians also have some great actors, and it wouldn't surprise me if it is also a bit cheaper!! A ton of great movies have been filmed in Canada, but I'm guessing you wouldn't know if it bit you in the butt!! Now go away troll!!
