he seemed like just a random. writers did not give much thought to his character

I had the same feelings. What even happened to his character? We didnt see him die or anything. I feel like Furlong ditched the movie mid filming over some kind of dispute... but they decided to keep what scenes he had anyway.

He was too busy eating Big Macs and Ice Cream.

He got fatter as the movie went on.
