Add 'Bad Frank' to a Jersey Classic Character

Review: Bad Frank

A preview of "Bad Frank" at the AC Cinefest tonight can mark down another classic Jersey character to cinema's hate but love Jersey Guys! A simple story told in a short time about a very stress ridden antihero. Frank Pierce is a working class guy with a working class wife in a working class town (Menham NJ) and trouble from the start.

Kevin Interdonato is Frank, a meds off anger management failure who is dragged back into the game by a loser pal in debt. Mick (iconic baddy Tom Sizemore as a perfectly balanced gangster) likes to shake down black drug dealers for profit.
Deals go sour and Frank has regrets right off the bat, and chooses to be a rat as a moral choice.... bad move.
Don't want to give away the movie but assume away that the title tells the tale. This film done on a micro budget in two weeks and under a lunch budget for a day at the studio, is a revelation. The team of film makers achieve everything they set out to do, tempered gritty movie takes a time to boil to a rumbling revenge movie. Indie Jersey actor Interdanato is not just capable, he is the movie. Tom Hardy can learn a thing or two from his powder keg role. Amanda Clayton is Frank's loving but flawed spouse, and the scenes together with Interdanato are really tense in packed master shots. Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini has a few scenes as a stoic father of
Frank, very few lines but masters his role till the final shot.
The movie is overlong... it is, and cutting is needed, but the tone is solid and the value on screen is remarkable. Elmore Leonard, Brian Garfield, Donald Westlake style Jersey flick is really good.
Don't F&@k With Frank!
