That cop subplot

Man, that didn't went anywhere, why were they even in the movie?

They're some of the worst cops ever, they're not shown doing any proper research, they just quickly blame Laura and her friends. Also, they make some really insensitive comments like when they see the injured blonde in the hospital: "Someone had a bad day" or something like that.

Or how about that blonde is made to commit suicide, the cop just looks at the scared cop whose gun was taken and says: "Really?"

I'm sorry, was this movie actually a black comedy and I didn't notice it until that part?

But yeah, after that hospital scene the cops never show up again in the movie, so why were they even in it?

The reason he said "really" was, he couldn't believe an unhealthy patient gotten up and take the gun off a police officer and killed herself.

And those comments they made was supposed to be depiction of how some stupid real life cops behave in those situation

No, they were just the cliched bumbling cops you see often in horror movies.

As for their comments, they took me out of the movie, they were really comical. I was starting to wonder if this was supposed to be a comedy.

It's a cliche for a reason.

"Where you headed?"
"Nowhere special."
"Nowhere special. Always wanted to go there."
