Box Office Predictions

According to longe range forecast, at this time, it is only tracking in at about $10 million dollars opening weekends. If this is the case then that will be an epic fail, and would mean prob no more Jigsaw movies. So let's home that it makes way more than that!

$30million dollar opening weekend

$80million total gross. Just my guess.

It'll probably make at least $25 million opening weekend. It's also playing in IMAX for a week, which will probably boost the box office.

I don't see this making as much money as the previous movies though. The marketing has been pretty terrible so far, and it's been 7 years since the last film. Most people don't seem to know this even exists.

Plus Thor 3 comes out next week, and the BO will drop drastically after that.

After reading everything, it looks like its only making 12-18 million opening weekend, which would be such a big disappointment. Lets hope it makes $25 million though, I really hope your right!

reply

Your right the marketing has been terrible, WHY WHY WHY. They needed to go all out like happy death day and have it advertised everywhere. Especially since its been a while since we saw a saw movie in theaters.

reply

completely agree they haven't marketed it well at all and due to that I think it will disappoint...

I'm going with...12 to 17 Million on Opening Weekend and 27 to 38 Million Total Domestic...

If It has Really Excellent Twist ending, I could see it having slightly better legs and maybe getting to 45 Million total, But the Twist will have to be GREAT and Get people talking...

all in all...not looking good for Saw...the one positive note is....these films are usually made on a small budget...Jigsaw is reported to have a 10 Million dollar Budget....so its not going to take much for the film to be Successful...

If Jigsaw even Grosses over 25 Million total domestically....theres a very good chance Sequels will be Greenlit.

Reading this has gave me some positivity lol. I just saw that the budget is only 10 million which is 10 million less then saw final chapter. How epic would it be next year in 2018 to have October 19 new Halloween film and the following week October 26 to have new saw film.

reply

Ya Thats the great thing about most Horror movies, they can be made with very small Budgets...

The Saw Franchise films were all made With Great Budgets...the first 2 were under 5 Million and all but SAW 3D were around 10 Million...

Basically With BR/DVD sales, and TV Rights...The Studios more than make the budget back, so really anything over 20 Million Domestically The Studio makes a profit...

Now of course The Studio has to be upset when A Saw film doesnt make over 40 Million because the movies clearly have the fanbase and potential...But if The Films do start regularly make between 20 and 30 Million Domestically...Thats not A Flop or anything due to the small budgets...

I suspect Sequels will continue to be Greenlit as long as theser films keep making at least 20 Million Total...

But its also clear, The Franchise is clearly heading downhill...The core Fanbase is not showing up in theaters when these films come out now...

IMO Lionsgate Needed to really do something special with this new Saw film...It needed to Look extremely Good and Different...It needed to have something to get people excited again....and I dont believe based on the trailers this film will or has done that...

It not a very good sign that the film literally comes out tonight and The review embargo still havent been lifted....

I bet Jigsaw is going to get Awful reviews and most reviews Will say theres nothing new or special about the film...

About 15 million tops.

Dang only 16 million opening. Fortunately the budget is 10 million, so it should be able to make a profit.

I can see a sequel being made, but not for at least a couple years. I don't see them doing the yearly sequel thing like before.

I just hope this doesn't kill the series. I really liked Jigsaw, and can see a sequel having big potential.
