Good plot for Hollywood since lack of fresh ideas

Have watched anime "Parasyte", and it rocks! Generally, a lot of anime and manga have decent plots that would be great to shoot in Hollywood with their experience and money.
This movie-version looks incomplete. Or should I say... cheap?
