First I want to post a disclaimer, so don't read below if you still believe in Santa Claus.
Where the celebrities in on the tricks? Where they David Blaine's accomplices? I am thinking yes, which would make a lot of the tricks pretty lame. What do you guys think? Excuse me if it is common knowledge that the celeb were in on it.
I don't think they are in on it. I've never seen Blaine in person, but I have seen similar tricks in person. I don't know how he pulls off some of his tricks, but that's the point isn't it? They are tricks. He's an illusionist. Just because it seems impossible doesn't mean it's fake. He puts on a persona like he's got special powers or something but that's just part of his act. He's not magic, he's just damn good at fooling the mind. He's not the first person to do tricks like this. He is on the other hand, one of the best at it. So good in fact, that he gets dismissed as fake. While that's unfortunate, it just makes his illusions that much more impressive.
shareI doubt that the celebrities are in on it and I'm not doubting David's talents as an illusionist, I'm just not impressed by it anymore. Bringing celebrities into the tricks doesn't make me any more impressed. It's like he's trying to freak people out and it doesn't surprise me. I don't know if I would feel different in person.
shareI doubt if the celebrities were in on it. Surely they wouldn't stake their reputations? Over-ups can be uncovered more readily now if a media person got their cases. Actors are good at acting. But I think that the celebrities look genuinely dazzled by the displays.
