always comes down to a muscle giant

I was excited to see Adkins go against another great martial artist but am alittle disappointed they went with the monster type badguy, that always seems to happen in these martial art flicks they can't find someone who can compare with their skill so they cast a giant smh

reply

Its actually NOT that common. Usually in martial arts movies the villain is NOT a giant. In Bloodsport Chong Li was only five foot six.

Its fun to see a martial arts master beat up a much larger person. I am looking forward to this.

I wish Bruce Lee had had someone this big to fight. He fought Abdul Jabar who is taller but nowhere near as buffed. Bruce was smaller than Scott Adkins so imagine how dwarfed he would be.

reply

They should hired Nathan Jones Who makes The giant vilain like 85% of The Time.

reply

Nathan Jones is a little bit larger actually.

Imagine Bruce Lee fighting someone that big.

We need Mike Jai White to fight a giant in a movie, he is a pretty big guy so seeing him as a dwarfed underdog would be cool.

reply

Mike fought Nathan Jones recently in Never Back Down 3

reply

I saw the clip of them fighting on youtube but my video store does not have the movie yet. It was bizarre because Mike is NOT a small person he is six two and a heavyweight by conventional standards and Nathan totally dwarfed him!

Why did he hate Nathan so much in that movie? Was he evil? did he do something terrible and Mike wanted revenge?

reply

Yeah Jones is huge. I think he's over 6'11" and 350 lbs. I haven't seen the film yet but Mike did mention something about Jones' character being a wife beater

reply

in the youtube clip Bone taunts him by saying "if you are so tough why did you have to hit your wife twice to knock her out?"/

I really want to see the movie I need to find it. There must be more to it than that because Mike had his own reasons for wanting revenge on the guy.

reply

You can get it on Amazon/eBay and Walmart, Best Buy, etc.
Btw if you have Instagram you should check out my page @martialarts_moviefights. I post videos from martial arts films daily. You may like it

reply

Nathan is taller than the guy here but the villain in this movie looks more muscular.

reply

The guy in this film kinda looks like Nathan Jones

Class is Pain 101. Your instructor is Casey Jones

Creator of 2002 have u not seen Blood & Bone with Michael Jai White, he fights several guys in it one of which is called The Hammer if I remember right any way he's like a giant bloody gorilla. I won't spoil it if u haven't but it's really good and bloody brutal. I just wish Scott Adkins would be given his own big action film on the big screen would be great watching him do what he does best on a giant screen. Boyka....Boyka....Boyka

reply

*Blood & Bone, ignore the amp?

reply

Bone never FOUGHT Hammerman. A "fight" goes both ways it was just Bone beating the crap out of someone. Bone outmatched him so badly it would be like me beating up a small child and calling it a "fight".

reply

I'm surprised Hammer didn't fall down and start crying like Bob Sapp did in real life when he fought Cro-cop.

reply

The "muscle giant" thing is actually a change of pace for this series. What made boyka so dangerous in U2 was his skill and agility rather than his size - Chambers is bigger than Boyka if I remember right. It's similar with with Zaror's character in the 3rd movie. He is taller than boyka but it's his speed and skill that makes him a dangerous opponent.

This fight is gonna be a change of pace.

reply

Trick photography was used to try to make Boyka look taller than Chambers but yeah a big guy relying on their size is not that interesting.

In Bloodsport the main villain Chong Li was not the biggest and in vid games like Street fighter the hardest boss is never the biggest (for example none of the bosses are as big as Zangeif).

reply

Balrog was pretty big and Sagat and Vega were pretty tall.

reply

Zangeif is definitely stronger and bigger than any of those you listed (not quite as tall as Sagat) and Hugo is EVEN BIGGER. Those 3 are not the true "giants" of their fictional universe, they are also smaller than T Hawk.
