Okay this really blows my top.
I have been a year off the franchise since it started. Bought every dvd and never had any complaint. Untill now. Just a few days before release they push it back for 3 months!
Im starting to think they actually want this movie to fail hard.
After waiting several years for this... im just going to give up. Their marketing team killed it for me. I just feel sorry for Scott. Im sure he did an awesome job acting in it as he always does.
Scott Adkins gets really tiny bit parts often with no speaking in mainstream (shown in theater) movies but movies he stars in are dvd only. I do not get it the guy is AWESOME. He is a crapload more awesome than the balding middle aged not handsome Jason Statham and Jason gets his movies in theaters and they do really well.
Boyka is an effing interesting character and it would be nice if his movies were higher budget and in theater.
That Boyka was the VILLAIN in his first appearance then became a hero for the sequels is brilliant. There is no literary rule requiring the HERO of a movie to seem invincible or be undefeated, only the villain has that burden, the hero is supposed to be the underdog and you are supposed to feel empathy for them, think Rocky or Karate Kid. Reusing a villain as a hero is a brilliant idea but only works if the villain is not evil beyond redemption. Chong Li from Bloodsport and Tong Po from Kickboxer would not be reusable as a hero.
Other redeemable martial arts movie villains who deserved their own sequel or spinoff as heroes are Johnny Laurence from Karate Kid, Ivan Drago form Rocky 4, "pretty boy" Price form Blood and Bone and had he not died Chuck Norris's character "Colt" from the Bruce Lee movie Way of the Dragon.
DeHan went from villain to hero in the first 2 "Best of the Best" movies and Apollo Creed did that from Rocky 2 to Rocky 3 but not as the MAIN hero but as an ally to the main hero.
Ah thats why i didn't hear of it. I was wondering what was going on as i heard january for release...

I just so hope this movie do not turn out to be another KIckboxer 2016 ... aka a very disapointing movie (but not completely crap) that i waited for a long time to see.
As for your list of vilains well we can forget Drago or others like but actually i think it could be interesting to see Johnny Lawrence again. The actor must not be "that" old as he was fairly young in the 80s. I would guess he is probably mid 40 and he could certainly have a good story build around him. I know it will never happen but i would really like to see this.
Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!
