If you like broad, repetitive humor . . .

. . . You'll like this. I gave up after this week's episode. Every episode has the same premise: she does and/or says something so stupid or inappropriate (that no trained lawyer would do) that it gets her into a social/professional hole that is hard to dig out of. It was sort of funny once, but now it's getting tired. They need some better plotting and writing.

I agree. The pilot was pretty funny but this weeks episode was poor.

Ninad speech was rather hilarious.

@pt100- Agree completely. Even wrote a review about exactly that on this site.

I just read your review. Very accurate. I always hate to see a good cast wasted on poor writing. Maybe it will fold and they'll move on to something better.

With all the launches of mediocre sitcoms, it just reminds me how rare a real hit is, and it makes me appreciate how hard it is to be a successful actor. My sympathy is with all those who strive against the odds. I wish them luck.

Thanks for your feedback about the review!

A real hit being rare...you said it.

If I may briefly interrupt the circle jerk.

Only eight episodes in and it's getting tired already? Aren't the episodes in most continuing series, whether drama or comedy, based on a single premise?

OK, hopefully a series can then go off in interesting ways that manage to sustain that basic premise for a lengthy run. But even that doesn't seem to be essential to a long-running programme.

I posted after episode 1 that this was promising. Eight in, and it hasn't disappointed. I'd say it's not laugh out loud funny, but consistently amusing and with characters I personally want to see more of. It's a show I look forward to.

And a major plus? No laugh track.

I do agree the laugh track can be distracting.

this show has no laugh track.

I'm sure monstermayhem meant laugh tracks in general, in response to my comment.

Maybe you shouldn't respond to the previous post without first reading what came before?

So people keep on telling me!

Doesn't change the fact that your post didn't make sense in the context of that nest of posts.

All I know is that I just gobbled up 6 episodes in a row. It's doing something for me, although it's a little more on the comfort viewing spectrum than "this is the most groundbreaking show I've ever seen."

It's a crowded place on TV and I'm not suggesting this is worthy of supplanting so many other shows on someone's weekly viewing list, but I was surprised that adds something a little new to the equation. The chemistry among the cast is pretty good and Oscar Nunez and Jay Harrington find themselves in roles that are 180s from their last project which was pretty cool.

same here. i like the show, not the best, but better than a lot of stuff that passes for entertainment now, and it makes me laugh

I find this show funny and charming, and has helluva more character and heart than most of network comedy shows which I had the misfortune of trying out: Selfie (dull and no chemistry between leads), A to Z (stupid and tired gimmick), Bad Judge (just.not.funny.), Marry Me (doesn't interest me), About a Boy (the kid annoys me, LOL), 2 Broke Girls (jokes gotten old), etc.

Here's to 2nd season!

Fine series, is there a 2? If so, I'll be quietly happy.
