entertaining to say the least *spoilers*
the movie was entertaining imo, not perfect at all and had a lot of potential, but failed to live up to it, but still, very entertaining.
things i liked:
- the cast, lots of people who know how to act, especially liked gordon lam as one of the lead roles, andy lau almost always does a great job. the mole who got killed (with the daughter), i don't know his real name (apparently it's philip keung) but i've seen at least a dozen movies with him. he's so underrated, yet he can play so many, many roles and be believable. kenny wong, another very underrated/underused actor, he has great acting and seeing him play a rather bigger role in a movie like this is great
- the gunfights, this movie would've been great to watch in the cinema (and in 3d!)
- great action movie, quite high budget from the looks of it and, if you don't think about it too much, very enjoyable
- the shots in the movie, the angles, it was shot beautifully.
things i disliked:
- not enough character development, but i guess otherwise the movie would've been around 3 hours
- action scenes over the top at times, the guy who thought it would be cool to blow up half hong kong probably watched too much michael bay movies
- when you're balancing in mid-air, the first thing you should do is not grab your opponent and do some WWF slam. where is the technique? where did the judo go? i really expected the judo theme to come back, seeing how the movie started with it
- andy lau becoming evil should've happened way earlier in the movie, so the cat and mole game could've been worked out better
