15 year old 8th grader?

Kimmy mentions almost finishing 8th grade several times and then was kidnapped for 15. Since we saw her turn 30, she would have been a 15 year old 8th grader?

I'm the same age as her character, but I wasn't 15 until I was a sophomore in high school.

Is this a believable age for her character?

Most people start 8th grade at age 13 and turn 14 during the year. She was in the bunker for 15 years and was 29 when she left so she would have been 14 in 8th grade which is plausible

Yeah mathematically it all lines up that she had already turned 14 but hadn't finished the school year, was kidnapped and spent 15 years underground before escaping at 29. Since most people graduate at 18 if you back that up four years to 8th grade you'd be 14. All makes sense to me.

Beyond plausible. Arbitrarily correct for arbitrary reasons. Is this really the "well actually" hill you want to die on? If strict believability is your cause, or you're on the autism spectrum, a show about mole-women seems rife for other technicalities.

Also, she was a slow child. Mentioned it a few times. Could have been held back a year.

I thought about that the other day too when her character mentioned being 30, then in another episode said she was gone for 15 years. Regardless of what grade she's in (no, teens who are starting to drive aren't usually in middle school) a 15 year old got into a car with a stranger? The problem is that Kemper is too old to play 25, so they had to say 30 and hope nobody did the math.

It doesn't hamper my enjoyment of this wonderful show, but no, it doesnt make sense.

Well clearly people in Durnesville aren't very smart, so I can buy a 15 year-old getting into a car with a stranger.
