2nd season definitely gets better by episode 5

I'm not sure what it was, but the first 3 episodes were kind of not that great to me. But it gets better! I noticed some ppl thought the same at first but just give it a chance again.

I didn't really notice anything wrong with the beginning of season 2. Liked it just fine. If there was anything that I didn't like it was the last few episodes of season 1 with that ridiculous trial. I know this show is deliberately over the top, but the ridiculousness of that wasn't even funny to me. It was just plain annoying.

I thought it got worse after the hotel episode. The plot arcs changed completely and the show seemed to lose direction. First we see a lot of Jacqueline and the Titus/Mikey arc is set up, but eventually Jacqueline disappears and doesn't return until the finale. I feel like there was more story that could have been told with her, even if it had been brief.

There was an eerie lesbo vibe between Deirdre/Jacqueline and Mimi/Jacqueline. I wish this had been explored because it's untapped comedy gold. Deirdre/Jacqueline could have been hilarious for an episode-long relationship.

I preferred Lillian more as a minor character that delivered a quick one-liner. She was established as a one-dimensional character in Season 1, but the writers attempted to add depth this season, and it didn't usually pay off because her actions and dialog were against her behavior pattern.

Overall, this season was more...annoying than last season. Mikey was an interesting character and I liked his dynamic with Titus, but the story wasn't at all relatable and showcased Titus' immaturity in a negative way.

Kimmy began to establish more backstory through by means of her therapist (Tina Fey), and it's here when it starts to become clear that the series is scrounging for material, as it comes across as a huge plot detour that sort of works, but mainly functions to create "filler" eps that extend the story's longevity.

The original songs and music were well made. They fit within the episode's context and provided a different way to deliver exposition.

Dong and Kimmy are always enjoyable. I also wanted more Xan because her hate for Kimmy is so sincere and their rivalry is great.
