PS3 Experience Event Gameplay (Possible Spoilers)

Thoughts? I thought it was incredible!

Here are my takeaways:

(1) The Big One- Nate has a brother named Sam Drake! What I think is so interesting is that he has also basically been confirmed as a villain through interviews. The first teaser trailer had a Todd Stashwick voice over which sounded super menacing and was confirmed to be the villain in the game by Staley. After the gameplay trailer came out, one of Stashwick's fans asked him on Twitter if he was originally cast as Sam. He dropped out when the company let Amy Henning go but he said he was. So they kinda sorta already confirmed he was the villain of this game...

(2) The gameplay looks fantastic and they made a couple tweaks. They added the sliding and stealth in overgrowth pieces as well as gameplay elements from both The Last of Us and the new Tomb Raider game. The new identification system Is the triangle to select method from The Last of Us and the climbing is just like in Tomb Raider. Also the rope swinging and takedowns were awesome. They felt like something out of an Arkham game.

(3) The detailing is great. Looking through the gameplay you could see so many little things happening that made it better. When Nate climbs his feet slip and brace for grip which is awesome. The wind moves the greenery and looks incredibly realistic. There is even a part where Mate slides down a dirt area and when he gets up he has the dirt skid marks on his back. Gorgeous!

(4) We also know Mate and Sa. Are following the footsteps of pirates Thomas Tew and Every. In the first trailer Every's name appears and in this trailer we see "the rhode island pirate" (a nickname for Tee) as well as the name of his ship in darkest diary. Pirate treasure!

(5) I've got a hunch what the supernatural element will be this time around. Snakes. The massive mountain they show repeatedly in the footage looks like a snake with it mouth open and in the note that Mate finds on a dead body it says the crew's captain was bitten by a snake which led to him going crazy. Other than that who knows!
