shareHaving played and completed the game, I can see why Chloe wasn't in this one. The whole 'Normal Life' with Elena is already threatened enough by the Adventurers lifestyle they constantly find themselves in so throwing in an ex love interest may have made it even more messy (although I liked Chloe as a character a lot).
Cutter would have been a nice addition, but I don't think the story suffered by not having him or Chloe in it.
I really liked Rafe as a character though, probably the best and most believable of all of the antagonists in any of the Uncharted games.
I guess but it would've been nice to see both of them seeing it was the last game in the series.
shareI get that, but at least you can play as Cutter on multiplayer.... not sure about Chloe. I haven't played it much. Playing story for the second time.

The bottom line is, Chloe and Cutter were great characters, but the Uncharted4 story does not suffer from them not being there. It was pretty much the perfect way to say goodbye to the franchise.

shareI like Rafe too. He is a very stereotypical one-sided villain but in a good way. (kinda like Jafar is in Aladdin, the comparison is strange but he's the best example I can think of on the spot for another great evil villain)
shareIt would be really cool if they explore Rafe as a character a lot more in the DLC that is due to come out. Even better if he is the playable character!
Imagine if the DLC is about his transition from 'Rich Douche' from the days in the Panamanian Prison to Mega Rich Megalomaniac Treasure Hunter! He is the 'Anti Nate'.

I was waiting for Rafe to start calling Nate a Street Rat or an orphan during that final battle. I definitely got the Jafar (Wealthy or socially powerful villain) vibe.
shareEven though I understand why they weren't in 4, they weren't needed for the story.
But it would have been nice to acknowledge Chloe's existance. They mentioned Cutter's name, I pretty sure when Nate sees Sam for the first time again in years. Why not name-drop Chloe too?
After fighting Nadine for the first time in Italy it would have been easy, something like Drake saying over the earpiece " Hey Sully, met your friend Nadine, she's not nice. Chloe may have taken her on though easily".
There's a letter from Chloe in the beginning of the game.

I don't miss Cutter - he's a Cockney nutcase. However I wouldn't mind seeing Chloe and Nadine doing battle against each other in the episode DLC that there is going to be. I don't need to see Rafe any more.
