This will not be Drakes last game, mark my words. SPOILERS

SPOILERS-

All if these games have been stellar. Theres way to much money to be made.

Aside from that-
Nadine escaped. So weve got her running around out there.
Drake and Elena have a daughter who seems to be walking in here parents footsteps.
The daughter is the one factor i can see that would mutually motivate Nate and Elena to voluntarilly go off on at least one more adventure....maybe a kidnapping to force Drake out of retirement?
And finally, theres $400 million sitting at the bottom of a lagoon in a cave.

You're a bit too sure of that. This isn't Ubisoft or Activision. Sony while still a company do have a rep for caring about quality story telling and maintaining integrity in their exclusives. In other words they have a BIT more shame than most publishers. There's a lot of money to be made from more Uncharted games sure and it's safe to say Sony are trying to figure out just how to do that. BUT for whatever developer who ends up with the IP to bring back Nathan Drake after UC4 would be an afront to Naughty Dog's beautiful resolution to the series and I doubt ND would stand for that or that Sony would want the backlash.

A prequel with a young Sully or a spin-off with another character is far more likely.

I have to agree. Would a spin off with a grown up Cassie work? Maybe Nate and Elena go missing on an expedition, she goes to investigate, and gets caught up in a conspiracy of some sort? Obviously that's very generic, but it would be nice to spend more time in the Uncharted world!

I thought it was quite obvious that Sam and Sully were still going to stay in the adventure business so who knows. Also agree that the kid could take over as well. OR this is truly the end and Naughtydog will give us a new franchise.

reply

Naughty Dog are done with Uncharted. They have confirmed this. If there are more Uncharted games it will be under the hand of a new dev. And like I said above for a NEW dev to take a dump on Naughty Dog's perfect end to the series by bringing back Nathan Drake would be unacceptable and Sony would have to be retarded to disrespect their most treasured exclusive developer like that. Sony will find a way to make more UC games with another developer, just not with Drake.

As a kid I saw crash bandicoot and several other fantastic franchises get passed off to terrible developers so I wouldn't be surprised (or happy) if the same thing happened here. I assume if they did continue the series with a new development group it would be with Sam as the lead. Naughty dog set that up pretty well if additional games are ever made. Silly and Sam adventuring together)

Naughty Dog aren't the type of studio to churn out yearly sequels just to make more profit. Crash Bandicoot was insanely popular, and they still chose to move on to a new series. I agree it's possible that we may get another 'Drake' game (a LONG time from now) but no way will we play as Nathan again. It's clear this is the end of that story.

reply

Naughty Dog has no issues with stepping away from a series with money left on the table they've kind of made a habit out of it, Crash, J&D, now Uncharted so no there won't be anymore because there doesn't need to be.

reply

As much as I love these games I agree that this was the perfect ending for the franchise.
On the other hand I'm dying for a sequel to The Last of Us....

I've never understood what "need" means in this context. I didn't need Uncharted to begin with. But it's awsome, and I'd hate to see it end. I doesn't have to have Nathan as the main person. The concept has a lot going for it, and there's a lot of characters connected to Nathan allready that could be used. As far as "need" is relevant in this context, I need more Uncarted.

reply

Let's hope! But it has to be inspired, and it doesn't need to have Nate Drake as the lead character. I'd love a game with Chloe as a lead, ha, ha.
