Is there a "dark" version of Peter Pan?

The original tale(s) were somewhat quite dark in tone and I've always found the character of Peter Pan to be somewhat three dimensional. Others have said about his deeper personality too.

Is there a movie more accurate to the original books or what adopts this take on the tale?

I don't know about a character-accurate film version but on the Disney ABC show Once Upon a Time Peter Pan is a villain and was one of the big baddies for most of a season. Hook, on the other hand, is a heroic mainstay in the show. Go figure.

The closest thing I ever saw to the original story was Peter Pan & The Pirates, an animated series that ran on Fox from 1990-1.

Well, the city's being built and I'm winning this game. So don't interrupt us with trifles.

There's the newer version of peter pan which was made in 2003.

There was one directed by Guillermo Del Toro where he gets lost down a dark maze. It's called Pan's Labyrinth.

I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.

Read "The Child Thief" by Gerald Brom (aka "Brom"). Unlike suggestions like Pan's Labyrinth it's a literal dark retelling of Peter Pan.
