I feel like Cobain would have...

Loved how they used Teen Spirit in this!! Some people were saying "Kurt would have loathed this" - "He would be so mad at this movie" Blah Blah Blah... Honestly none of us could even attempt to speak for him, but, in my opinion is this story is about: youth, staying young forever, imagination, and many other themes that Kurt expressed interest in while he was alive, so I think Kurt would have loved to see how the filmmakers used his song in this movie

I was at a loss for words when I heard a Nirvana song being quoted in Neverland. I felt it was odd and strange to use that in a time when the song was not even written yet. I think they should've used an original song instead. It just seemed out of place to me.

It was pretty goofy, but that's part of what I liked about it.

I basically had a flashback to Moulin Rouge!...

A much better place to be!

I think that part is kinda secretly brilliant.

Why do you think an original song would have been better? Would it make any more sense? This is a universe where flying pirate ships can invade London during the Blitz, why couldn't "Smells Like Teen Spirit" BE an original song in that universe?

Heck maybe Cobain was a Lost Boy who learned the song in Neverland and then ended up in Seattle afterwards?

It just felt really corney to me to hear them sing that song. I felt the same way about Moulin Rouge, but I came to love that movie after watching it again. Pan was interesting, but parts of the film just didn't work for me. I guess I'm just a purest and like original material over unoriginal.

It was so out of place as to be pathetic. Just because you are one of those who think Nirvana was the best thing in the known universe doesn't make that horrible placement any better.

My question is, why is everyone only talking about Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirt' but no mention of the Ramones 'Blitzkrieg Bop'? Does that mean No one found it interesting or weird that the mining camp singing that while lining kids up to walk the plank?

Putting that "Smells like teen spirit" song in the movie was brilliant! It shows just how much the imagination of the producing team and the creation of art is unappreciated.

I, for one, loved it! I went in knowing it was going to be a kids movie. I came out unable to stop singing the song

My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.

Kurt Cobain expressed interest in staying young forever, when? He often mocked (teen)youth and it's lack of imagination. He wouldn't have cared whether if SLTS was in Pan, Titanic or Zoolander.
