Eligible for Academy Award?

Really loved this short and hope, as he mentioned in an interview, that Wes Anderson makes more shorts with Jed Cavalcanti in famous movie studios in Japan, Nice, France etc. in the future. That said, though the film first premiered at this year's Rome Film Festival, is it eligible for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short this year? I hope so because the advertising element in it is extremely minimal and the film itself is truly memorable.

I know its late to contribute since The Academy season is over, but even if it is eligable, I think they would've snubbed it.

As I learnt from their snubbing of the mighty Rush (That's a masterpiece of its own), The academy don't seem to appreciate motorsport films like we do.
Even documentary 1: Life on The Limit got snubbed.

But, on the other hand, I too enjoyed Cavalcanti!
