Slipstream glitches?

Very interesting movie (and rather well executed too)!

At the beginning, it's explained that slipstreaming is potentially dangerous and that people can get messed up in the process.

Overall, in the movie, in seems that no such slipstream glitches ever occur. Or do they? There's some weird hints, like in the scene where Whit enters the medical room/lab (around 52min), he appears to have a fit of slipstream-like glitches. Then again this technology is so improbable and magical, I'm not surprised they don't go into too much detail about it.
