FLOPPED (ratings)

Only a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo. I knew the ratings were gonna be bad, but not this bad. Yikes.
Bordertown earned a 1.1 out of Family Guy's 1.7, this show will be forgotten before you know it.

There might be a small problem with your assessment of the ratings though.
You're under the assumption FOX is going to drop the ax because the first episode received a 1.1 demo score.

The problem is Bob's Burgers fifth season (10|2014 - 05|2015) ranged from 0.90 to a mere 1.97 but in October 2015 FOX announced a renewal for not only a seventh season but also an eighth.

While it's reasonable to suggest they aren't expecting as much from the 7:30 time slot as they are the 9:30, but if they're willing to renew a show that occasionally didn't even garner a 1 demo score for two additional seasons, wouldn't that suggest they'd be willing to at least give a show a chance that received a 1.1?
I'd like to also throw in that Bob's Burgers viewership average from last season was only 2.58 million viewers, only slightly higher than the viewership for Bordertown's first episode.

Also, FOX announced they aren't using live ratings any longer. Was the 1.13 demo & 2.340 million viewers the live rating or the live + 7 numbers?
I'm not saying Bordertown deserves to be on the air for many MANY seasons, I'm just suggesting that perhaps it's not as doomed as the picture you're painting.

As it was said below the second episode fared better than the first & while these aren't the final numbers, the third episode didn't top the second but were still higher than the Pilot.
The third episode received a 1.20 demo score & 2.569 million viewers. Your declaration of a ratings flop doesn't seem to be holding true.

It got a 1.5 on its second episode, it will probably get a second season at this point.

I think this show has low ratings because it looks very offensive... which it is, but its actually funny.

Most American regions won't get the racist humor at all, but those of us in Southern cities probably will.
Much like the Squidbillies, this show does not look visually appealing to most people, but the episodes are actually funny.

There is actually some good observational humor in the ridiculous jokes.

Much like the Squidbillies, there are some jokes many northerners and bread basket Americans wont comprehend.

Its not anything deep or intelligent, but just very stupid jokes that they wont get.
For example the "Truck-boat-Truck" with the David Allen Coe tape in the squidbillies, or the naive hood-rich landscaper in Bordertown.

Also, I dont think this show should have been on Fox. I didnt even know it existed until I was browsing on Hulu. Even then, I was reluctant to watch it. This show would have been more tolerable to audiences if it was on a cable network like adultswim.
Also, kids will get the wrong impression on overt racism.

Whelp it got a .7 this week it is going to be cancelled.

reply

Two .7's in a row, then it moved to the death slot and actually managed a .8. Odd, but still canceled.

reply

The show only got a .4 last night, LOL.

reply

these shows take a long time to make there is no way that it will be on the fall schedule but if they want to have it ready for mid season then they are going to have to order more episodes sometime soon

This show was also originally supposed to air in the fall of 2014 so it is possible that production has already been shut down for a couple of years

reply

There is no way this show is coming back, even FOX won't tolerate a 0.4 rating.

How did Cleveland Show have so many damn seasons? That show was actually worse, and no, I'm not kidding.

Cleveland lasted four seasons because it was sold into syndication the year after it debuted so it had to remain on the air until it had the minimum amount of episodes for synd which was 88.

To no one's surprise, Bordertown was canceled.
